Welcome to St. John's
St. John's in Riga, Michigan was founded in 1900. For much of its history it was an independent Lutheran church, with pastors supplied by Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). We have been a member of the Wisconsin Synod since 1976.

St. John's in Riga is often called "the center of the universe", In part, because it is located in the Southeast corner of Michigan just 5 miles from the Ohio state line. It resides 13 miles Southeast of Adrian, Michigan, 15 miles Northwest of Toledo, Ohio, and 30 miles Southwest of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Riga is a township with a population of 1,400 people. The people are hard working and dedicated individuals. Most of our family here at St. John's lives in Blissfield, Palmyra, Adrian, Britton, or Toledo. They travel anywhere from 15-30 minutes to join together in offering God worship and praise (CLICK HERE for worship time).

Our congregation is made up of wonderful people who love their Savior and are known for their hospitality. We would love to serve you any way we can. Stop in and see us, you are always welcome!
